Online Elementary Tutor Terms of Service

Welcome to Online Elementary Tutor (“OET,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By using our website, programs, tutoring services, or educational resources, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Services Overview

OET provides online tutoring, homeschool support, academic coaching, standardized test administration, and related educational services for families. Services are delivered virtually through approved platforms such as Koala Go, Zoom, Google Workspace, IXL, Flowcabulary, Generation Genius, and others.

All tutoring sessions, assessments, and resources are designed to support each child’s academic growth in alignment with educational standards and homeschool requirements.

2. Parental Consent and Responsibility

Because we work with minors, a parent or guardian must enroll each child, provide accurate contact and payment information, and consent to data collection as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Parents are responsible for:

• Ensuring the child attends sessions on time with appropriate materials

• Maintaining a stable internet connection and functional device

• Supervising technology use during online sessions

3. Scheduling and Attendance

Tutoring sessions are scheduled in advance and confirmed via email or calendar invite.

• Sessions begin and end promptly at the scheduled times.

• If a student arrives late, the session will still end at the original time.

• Missed sessions without proper notice are non-refundable.

Rescheduling Policy:
Families may reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice. Frequent cancellations may result in the loss of a reserved time slot.

4. Payment and Billing

Payment is due in advance through our secure payment system. OET accepts major credit cards and scholarship payments (such as Step Up For Students).

Late or missed payments may result in paused services until the account is current.
Packages and membership fees are non-transferable and non-refundable once sessions have begun, except under extraordinary circumstances determined by OET.

5. Technology and Platforms

By participating in OET programs, you consent to the use of educational platforms such as Koala Go, Google Workspace, IXL, and others that help deliver instruction.
Parents may be asked to provide temporary access to their child’s Google account for tutoring or homeschool portfolio purposes, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

OET is not responsible for outages, connectivity issues, or technical malfunctions beyond our control.

6. Educational Content and Materials

All lesson materials, resources, and proprietary systems (including Learn Reading™, Cool School™, Cornell Compass™, and OET curriculum tools) are owned by Online Elementary Tutor and may not be copied, shared, or resold.

Parents and students receive access to these materials for personal educational use only.

7. Student Conduct

OET maintains a respectful, positive learning environment. Students are expected to:

• Participate respectfully and follow directions

• Use polite language and behavior during sessions

• Keep distractions (phones, toys, or unrelated tabs) to a minimum

If behavior disrupts learning or endangers others, OET reserves the right to pause or terminate services.

8. Cancellation by OET

OET may cancel or reschedule sessions in rare cases (for illness, emergencies, or technical issues). Families will receive notice as soon as possible and may reschedule at no additional cost.

9. Refunds

Refunds are considered only in exceptional cases where OET is unable to deliver services as promised. Because we reserve individualized time slots and create customized learning plans, most fees are non-refundable.

10. Liability

OET strives to provide high-quality, personalized instruction but does not guarantee specific academic results. Parents understand that success depends on consistent attendance, effort, and engagement at home.

OET, its tutors, and affiliates are not liable for any damages arising from use of our services, website, or educational materials.

11. Privacy and Data

Your privacy matters deeply to us.
Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service periodically. The most current version will always be posted on our website with a new “Last Updated” date.
